Continuing Education and Renewal Date:
โขLicenses issued before January 1, 2020 โ April 30th of every even-numbered year.
โขLicenses issued after January 1, 2020 โ Every two (2) years on the anniversary of the date the license was issued.

o6 hours in any mandatory subject**

There is a one-time requirement for all licensees to take a lead poisoning/lead hazard mitigation course of not less than 3 hours if they did not already take it to gain licensure. The Rhode Island Lead Paint Mitigation course may be taken again for mandatory credit in a separate cycle if desired.
**Mandatory Subjects:
โขRhode Island law defining relationships between licensees and consumers;
โขRhode Island law pertaining to real estate licensure;
โขRhode Island landlord-tenant law;
โขThe law of contracts;
โขFederal, Rhode Island, and local law pertaining to fair housing and the treatment of any individual in a protected class as designated in the Rhode Island Fair Housing Practices Act;
โขLead hazard mitigation or other environmental issues pertaining to real property;
โขLocal ordinances and regulations pertaining to residential real estate;
โขFinancing the purchase of real estate
โขEthical considerations in real estate transactions; or
โขCoastal real estate, wetlands, flood plains and sea-rise.
Final Exam: While students are required to demonstrate mastery of the content at certain levels of the course, there are no passing requirement for the final exam.
Expiration Date of Course: Course expiration dates vary but are generally 6 months after enrollment date.
Certificate: With few exceptions, online course completion certificates are available for download at course conclusion and posted directly to your student dashboard.

Online Limitations
If you choose to complete the course Law of Agency it is required to be taken in a classroom setting. All other CE hours that may be taken online.
