1. General New Jersey Salesperson License Requirements
The general requirements for real estate salespersons defined by the New Jersey Real Estate Commission are as follows:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have a high school education or equivalency
- Possess good character, trustworthiness, honesty, and integrity
2. Salesperson License Education Requirements in New Jersey
Below are credit hours required for the New Jersey pre-license course to qualify for your salesperson license.

3. Additional Salesperson License Requirements in New Jersey
If you meet the general requirements and have completed your required course credit hours, you will need to complete the following steps to get your Salesperson license:
- Apply for the New Jersey Salesperson examination
- Submit fingerprints for a criminal background check
- Successfully pass the New Jersey Salesperson licensing exam with a score of 70% or higher
- Obtain sponsorship from a licensed New Jersey broker
- Complete the New Jersey Real Estate License application
